NUMS Organizes Workshop on Cochrane Systematic Review & Meta-Analysis at KEMU Lahore.Cochrane Pakistan successfully organized a two-day workshop titled “Cochrane Systematic Review & Meta-Analysis” on April 24–25, 2026, at the King Edward Medical University (KEMU), Lahore. The workshop brought together participants from KEMU and several other institutions, with the objective of strengthening faculty capacity in evidence-based research.

A three-day workshop on “Knowledge Synthesis and Translation: Exploring the World of Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses” was successfully conducted at Rawalpindi Medical University from April 15–17, 2026. The workshop was led by Prof. Dr. Humaira Mahmood, Focal Person for Cochrane Collaboration at Health Services Academy (HSA), with support from the organizing and R&D teams.

Cochrane Collaboration Pakistan, an initiative of Prof. Sohail Sabir has led to series of capacity building workshops. A recent workshop on Cochrane Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis has been a resounding success! Prof Dr Humaira Mahmood, being HSA Cochrane focal person, lead the session,  under the visionary leadership of worthy VC Shahzad Ali Khan.

On 20th October 2025, World Evidence-Based Health Care Day was observed at PEMH Rwp, with great enthusiasm. A special lecture was organized on this occasion, delivered by Prof. Dr. Sohail Sabir HOD medicine/ Advisor in Nephrology, who gave a comprehensive and insightful explanation on the importance of evidence-based medical practice in improving patient care and clinical outcomes. The session emphasized the critical role of research, clinical expertise, and patient values in guiding effective healthcare decisions.
