About us

Cochrane Pakistan was established in 2024 with an aim to promote evidence-based healthcare in Pakistan as it endeavours to become a pivotal part of Cochrane's global network. By aligning with Cochrane's strategy, it aims to build capacity for conducting systematic reviews, promote the use of Cochrane evidence in healthcare decision-making, and foster collaboration among researchers, clinicians, and policymakers. It marks a pivotal step in enhancing the quality of healthcare in the region through rigorous research synthesis and evidence-based practices, underpinned by methodologies like systematic reviews and the GRADE framework. The pioneer leader of the group is Prof Dr. Sohail Sabir, a renowned healthcare professional and researcher who has played a pivotal role in setting up this geographic group. His strategic leadership has been been instrumental in guiding Cochrane Pakistan in its mission to advance evidence-based healthcare in the country.
