NUMS Organizes Workshop on Cochrane Systematic Review & Meta-Analysis at CMH Lahore Medical College
The National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) successfully organized a two-day “Cochrane Systematic Review & Meta-Analysis” workshop on May 29–30, 2025, at CMH Lahore Medical College. The event brought together participants from CMH LMC and the Institute of Dentistry (IOD), intending to enhance faculty expertise in evidence-based research.
It provided practical, hands-on training, covering key methodologies for conducting systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Expert-led sessions guided participants through the process, equipping them with skills essential for contributing to high-quality, evidence-based medical research in Pakistan. Sessions included hands-on training in formulating PICO questions, using RevMan software, interpreting forest plots and conducting risk of bias assessments.
All attendees received certificates of participation, and the workshop was accredited for 9.5 CME credit hours.
Enthusiastic Participation and Positive Feedback
The workshop received an overwhelmingly positive response from members of the College faculty. Participants particularly appreciated the interactive format and the facilitators' depth of knowledge.
One of the participants remarked: “I feel more confident now to start a systematic review on my own”.
