2-Day Systematic and Cochrane Review Workshop Successfully Conducted

The Health Services Academy (HSA), Islamabad, proudly hosted a 2-Day Systematic and Cochrane Review Workshop under the umbrella of NUMS from 20th to 21st August 2025. The workshop aimed to strengthen research capacity in systematic reviews among early-career researchers and postgraduate students. Organized by Prof. Dr. Humaira Mahmood HSA Focal person Pakistan Cochrane collaboration with support of NUMS under leadership of respected VC Sir Shahzad Ali Khan.

HSA is ready to support other partners in their capacity building activities to promote research culture in Pakistan under leadership of Maj Gen. Prof. Sohail Sabir.

• Hands-on training sessions led by experts in evidence synthesis and systematic review methodology.
• Interactive discussions on Cochrane review protocols, database searching, and data extraction tools.
• Networking opportunities that brought together researchers from diverse academic institutions and healthcare organizations.
• Active participation from postgraduate researchers, especially Master’s and PhD students.

Participants gained practical experience in:

• Developing review protocols
• Conducting structured literature searches
• Using Cochrane tools and guidelines for quality appraisal and data management
